Legon Cities FC has become serious title contenders for the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League season following the signing of legendary striker Asamoah Gyan.

The club in the 2019/2020 football season struggled to compete with the top-flight clubs as a result of the lack of quality in their team.

In a bid to change the story in the upcoming football season, officials of Legon Cities FC has done some serious business in the local transfer window before its closure last Saturday.

Notable amongst the deals completed is the signing of Ghana’s all-time leading goal scorer, Asamoah Gyan.

The deal to bring the forward to the club is to solve the team’s main shortcomings from last season which was the lack of a potent striker to bang in the goals.

Before the campaign was suspended and subsequently canceled, Legon Cities FC had scored just 12 goals in 15 games making them the fourth-lowest scorers in the Ghana Premier League.

With the signing of Asamoah Gyan, that problem is potentially solved looking at the goal scoring record of the 34-year old attacker.

His arrival, plus that of other top players has made Legon Cities FC a title contender for the upcoming season which is scheduled to commence on November 14.
