Legon Cities FC forward, Asamoah Gyan is not ruling out a return to the Black Stars although he has emphasized that he is focused on regaining top form to help his new club.

The Ghana all-time leading top scorer joined the capital-based club last weekend on transfer deadline day to give the team a massive squad boost.

While he has not been active in the Black Stars in the past year, Asamoah Gyan is keen on making a return.

However, he says he wants to regain his best form in order to help Legon Cities FC in the upcoming football season.

“Right now I need to get fit and start scoring goals and then we will see where my future lies with the national team. The boys are doing well, it is a new generation right now and I am also focussing on my personal thing and on my playing career”, Gyan told BBC Sport Africa.

The legendary striker added, “I have to do well in the league first, and that is what matters to me. I have to start playing and enjoying my football and it will happen naturally if it is meant to be. Everything depends on me."

Meanwhile, Asamoah Gyan has laughed off talk of retirement while noting that it is not on his mind at the moment.
