Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri has suggested that a talk with his side after their loss to FC Porto in the Champions League paved the way for their fantastic 4-2 win over Manchester City on Saturday.
The Foxes suffered a 5-0 loss away to the Portuguese champions in their final dead rubber Champions League group game after confirming their place in the last 16 the week before, which saw them rest a number of key players in the build-up to their home clash with Pep Guardiola's side.
And according totalkSPORT,the Italian coach has insisted that a talk with his side after their European disappointment put them in the right frame of mind to beat City at the King Power Stadium, ending a run of six league games without a win.
"We spoke a lot about everything but this time the words go in the right direction, not only mine. The players contributed," said Ranieri.
"We must be upset with our performance (in Porto) because it wasn't good enough and the fans are always behind us. It's important to say 'we are here.'

"We can tell it's a turning point in two or three months, now it's too early. For this reason I want to wait for the next two matches. It's important the players feel better, with more confidence because we can do this.
"Now, forget the Champions League and put our brain on the Premier League."
The reigning Premier League champions netted twice in the opening four minutes against Pep's men, while Jamie Vardy would later go on to secure a memorable hat-trick - his first in the top flight for the club, with his last coming for Fleetwood Town back in 2012.
