Leicester City are reportedly keen on signing Red Bull Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita, according to theMirror, with the Premier League champions viewing the youngster as a potential N'Golo Kante replacement.

The 21-year-old has so far proven to be a revelation in the Bundesliga, scoring three goals from his five league starts. In addition to his goals, his all-roundplay has helped Leipzig as surprise early-season title challengers alongside perennial champions Bayern Munich.

And reports suggest the Foxes have been so far impressed with the Guinea international's performances and are interested in bringing the midfielder to the King Power stadium.

The East Midlands side are still reeling from the loss of key player N'Golo Kante who joined Chelsea for £32m in the summer transfer window after starring for the Foxes in their surprise Premier League title victory last season.

But the Foxes hopes of signing Keita will be difficult, according to reports, with 21-year-old currently having three and a half years left on his current deal. He joined the Bundesliga outfit just this summer after two years with Red Bull Salzburg.

Meanwhile, Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri hailed his side's spirit in their 1-1 draw against Tottenham, which marked the Foxes' first away point this season.

"This is the spirit, the spirit to fight for every ball," Ranieri declared. "When I feel this in the team I am happy, even if we lose. We are back together. When we play like this we fight together."

He added: "I saw the whole spirit, the spirit of last season, the spirit which helped us achieve something I don't want to keep talking about."
