Leicester City Winger Riyad Mahrez Names His Top 3 Choices for the Ballon d'Or Award

Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez has revealed his predictions for the upcoming Ballon d'Or awards.

Mahrez has been nominated for the prestigious award alongside fellow Foxes forward Jamie Vardy after their starring roles in Leicester's unprecedented Premier League triumph last season.

The Algerian faces stiff competition for the award, however, with heavy favourites Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo expected to fight for the honour. The likes of Antoine Griezmann, Luis Suarez and Gareth Bale have also been nominated following their impressive displays over the past year.

Speaking to Goal, Mahrez quickly chose Messi and Ronaldo, but couldn't pick between Suarez and Griezmann as his third choice.

When quizzed about who had been the best manager over the past year, Mahrez opted for Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane, who managed a Champions League title in his first year with the La Liga giants.

Mahrez has been linked with moves abroad since his impressive 2015-16 campaign with Leicester, but, whereas fellow of N'Golo Kante decided to leave for a larger club, Mahrezelected to stay at the King Power Stadium and play Champions League football for the Foxes.
