However,Football Italianow report that the medical has not taken place due to complications over Pavoletti's image rights, with Napoli's chairman,Aurelio De Laurentiis, insisting that the club own all of the striker's sponsorship deals and any external agreementsmust be terminated.

The issue is likely to be resolved swiftly however and it is understood to be a mere formality which means thatPavoletti should still complete the move once the medical is rearranged.

Napoli are keen to bring the striker in as they continue to search for consistency following the departure of talismanGonzalo Higuain, who left the club in the summer to join Juventus for a whopping £75.3m.

De Laurentiis recently hinted that current forward Manolo Gabbiadini will be leaving Naples after stating that the Italian was not suited to the team's current style

With Gabbiadini appearing surplus to requirements, Napoli are hoping thatPavoletti can come in and add some much needed firepower to the side, as they look to close the seven point gap between themselves and table topping Juventus, who already look set to defend their Serie A title for the fourth year in a row.
