Ghana international, Phil Ofosu-Ayeh says it is important the Black Stars present a strong squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Born in Germany, the defender currently plays his football in Sweden with Halmstads BK.

Speaking to Happy FM in an interview, Phil Ofosu-Ayeh has confirmed that he has always followed the Black Stars although he has not been a member of the squad.

According to him, he is confident Ghana can do well at this year’s world cup. He however stresses that it will be dependent on the ability to go to the tournament with a good team.

“Yeah, I tried to follow every match. That was a very big game (against Nigeria). Ghana was a bit unlucky in the past few years but I’m happy our country made it back (to the World Cup). I’m just hoping that we stick together and get a good Black Stars squad there (to the World Cup),” the defender said.

Phil Ofosu-Ayeh, 30, has been capped once by Ghana after he switched nationality from Germany to play for Ghana in 2015.
