Liberty will survive relegation scare - Godfred Akoto

Published on: 19 August 2016

Liberty Professionals General Manager, Godfred Akoto Boafo believes they on course to avoid relegation from the Ghana Premier League this season.

The Dansoman- based club has endured a topsy-turvy season in the GPL this term with some poor displays, which has plunged them as one of the candidates facing the axe from the elite Division.

And in midweek, they succumbed to a two-nil defeat at the Len Clay against AshGold SC to continue their downward spiral on the league table, and this has further deepened their woes in the relegation fight.

However, Godfred Akoto expressed defiance in avoiding the drop and indicated that they are fervently putting their house in order to turn their fortunes in the last five matches left.

“We are shaping the squad to finish well in the last five games and starting from Sunday we’ll improve on our results. This season has been very tough for us, but we still have a shot of placing a good position come the end of the league.”

“We’ll win on Sunday against WAFA and take it on from there. WAFA game will not come easy especially with our form, but we have prepared adequately to pick all the three points and surely we’ll triumph on the day.” He told Happy FM's Reuben Obodai.

Liberty Professionals occupy 12th position on the log with 30 points from 26 matches in the Ghana Premier league.
