Club America's striker Roger Martinez has been repeatedly linked with Argentinian giants Boca Juniors in the past couple of weeks, with the Xeneizes reportedly making multiple offers to the Mexico City club to try and bring the Ecuadorian to Buenos Aires.
However, it now seems like the negotiations have fallen through, as America's president Santiago Banos has assured that Martinez will stay with las Aguilas , at least for the foreseeable future:
"There were talks and negotiations (about a possible transfer) but for now that possibility has gone cold, there are no conditions to continue with any negotiation. As of right now, Roger is part of the squad and taken into consideration for a spot" Banos said to TUDN. Martinez reported to Coapa on Monday to undergo a medical and will join the rest of his teammates in Salt Lake City to prepare for the new season.
