Lights Out! City Boss Pep Guardiola Tells Team to Get 8 Hours of Sleep for Early Cool Down Sessions

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has instructed his players to get at least eight hours of sleep every night, as well as organising obligatory early morning cool down sessions after every game.

The Spanish coach has already made his impact on his new club, as well as the Premier League, with a topsy-turvy start to the current campaign, but has recently slipped off the race for the title after two consecutive losses in the league for the first time in his managerial career.

But according to The Sun, the former Catalan manger is introducing new rules for his star-studded squad, including implementing guidelines on how much sleep they should get, as well as organising rehabilitation exercises for the morning after matches, at 9am.

Guardiola has insisted that players get eight hours of sleep so that they are fully refreshed for the next day's game or training session, and further reports suggest that some players even decide to sleep at the Etihad campus so they don't have to drive into the training ground for their cool down session the next day.

The club's luxurious£200mtraining complex is more comfortable than any hotel, according to the staff and squad themselves, while one first-team player has reportedly suggested thatthe Etihad food is on a par with any restaurant in Manchester.

Speaking of his policies, Guardiola has suggested that he just wants to get the best out of every player: "I don't judge a player for himself, I judge with how he plays with others and the way we want to play.

I try to be with the players when the situation is not quite good.It is about how they react and here they are really good."
