Angers have reportedly expressed interest in signing Ghana defender Abdul Mumin from Vitória SC in the on-going summer transfer window.
The Ligue 1 side are have placed a €4 million bid for the 24-year-old following his impressive form in the Portuguese top-flight league last season.
Angers hope to beat off competition from several clubs who are also keen on securing his services.
Mumin was a regular in the heart of defence for Vitória SC and helped the team throughout the campaign, making 29 appearances in all competitions.
He has previously played for FC Nordsjaelland and HB Koge.
The highly-rated defender joined Vitoria Guimaraes two years ago as a free agent from FC Nordsjaelland.
The Portuguese side are bracing themselves for offers for the central defender in the summer after an impressive second season at the club.
