Philippe Coutinho has insisted that Liverpool must "dream" of winning the Premier League title if they are to turn such an aspiration into reality.
The Reds currently sit second in the league standings with 27 points from the first 12 matches of the campaign, and briefly sat at the summit of England's top flight before being overtaken by Chelsea last Sunday.
Jurgen Klopp's charges have been tipped to mount a serious challenge for the title this term after putting a number of sides to the sword and, in an interview with Sky Sports, Coutinho was of the opinion that every first-team squad member at Liverpool needed to believe that they could achieve a first league trophy since 1990.
He said: "That's obviously the dream, and that's what we've got to do. We have to dream it.
"It's all about the confidence and the mentality that the coach has given us. This used to be a team that didn't really believe in itself. Now the players feel more comfortable and this comes from the coach. That's something that's reflected on the pitch and in the results."
The 24-year-old has been in exceptional form for Liverpool in 2016/17, with six goals and six assists registered in just 13 matches so far, and Coutinho puts his current displays down to the freedom he has been granted to play wherever he likes on the pitch by Reds manager Klopp.

He continued: "I like the position that I'm now playing at Liverpool. What I like most about it is that I don't have to just stay in one place. I have the freedom to move around.
"The manager is comfortable with me doing it and that's given me the confidence to go and play.
"I'm so happy when I'm playing football. That's what I like to do the most.
"When I come onto the pitch, that's when I'm able to get into that zone and forget about everything else other than just doing my job. But even then, it's not a job. It's playing football and that's something I love."
As well as Coutinho, the Brazil international's team mate for both club and country, Roberto Firmino, has also been in terrific form for the Anfield-based side. The duo clearly have a rapport both on and off the pitch, and the 24-year-old added that he was pleased to be able to link up with his compatriot on a more regular basis.
Coutinho said: "I have a great relationship with him on and off the pitch. We are good friends, but it's not just him, I am linking up well with all of the players on the pitch. And when the team is playing well, the individuals in the team look like they are playing better."
