Liverpool's Emre Can Holds No Regrets Over Leaving Bayern Munich After Lack of First-Team Chances

Liverpool midfielder Emre Can has revealed he holds no regrets after leaving Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich in favour of Bayer Leverkusen back in 2013.

Can made just four league appearances for Bayern, playing mainly for the club's second string outfit before moving to Bundesliga rivals Bayer Leverkusen. After impressing during his time with Leverkusen, Can moved to Liverpool in 2014 where he has been become an important part of the first-team squad.


Speaking to Sky Sports as quoted byFour Four Two, Can claimed the move away from Munich has helped further his career.

"I was very realistic," Can stated.


"It was very important for me at that time that I play.


Can played 39 games in all competitions during his one season withLeverkusen, scoring four goals during the process, and the Germany international has claimed the amount of game time he received at the time justified the move away from Bayern.

"I felt that I was not getting much game time and so I moved to Bayer Leverkusen.

"I think it was the right way because I played a lot of games there.


"Then the offer from Liverpool came."


Since his move to Anfield, Can has made over 100 appearances for the Merseyside club. Last season he helped the club to the finals of both the League Cup and the Europa League, although Liverpool could notclaim victory in either matches.


He was named as Liverpool's Young Player of the Season for the 2015-16 season, while he was included in the Europa League squad of the Season.
