Arsenal'sMesut Ozil has yet to sign a new contract for the North London club, which has led some to speculate that the German midfielder is seeking a transfer elsewhere. The 28-year-old moved to the Emirates from Real Madrid, and could desire a return to Spain.

However, new Gunners striker Lucas Perez is convinced that Ozil has no such desire.

Ozil joined Arsenal for £42.5m in 2013, and scored his first ever hat-trick against Ludogorets in the Champions League on Wednesday. Three key Gunners figures are closing in on new contracts in North London: Ozil, attackerAlexis Sanchez and the manager himself, Arsene Wenger.

Wenger has encouraged Ozil to pen a new deal, having watched the assist king turn into a goal machine. The German has bagged six goals this season already.

"We are always in touch and that's our desire," Wenger said.
