Luka Modric Confirms Intention to See Out Career at Real Madrid

Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric has admitted that he is hoping to spend the rest of his career at the club, saying that he is 'too happy' at the Bernabeu to even consider a move elsewhere.


The 30-year-old played well in Real's 2-1 win over Celta Vigo on Saturday, and revealed toSportske Novostithat he hastold his agents not to even tell him about any club who makes an approach to take him away from Madrid

He said:"I am not interested in anyone but Real. I am too happy in Real.Probably there are some others [clubs] asking about me but I told my people, that take care of my career, not even to tell me the info who eventually contacted them!I don't want to know, I don't care. My mission is in Real as long as Real will want me."


Modric has two years remaining on his current deal with the Champions League holders, and insisted that he can continue to play at the highest level for a while longer.

"I really feel like 27-28," he said. "Today players can last longer than before and the most important thing is for player how he feels.Sometimes you can be physically and specially mentally tired before you turn 30, if you don't take care of yourself and work on yourself."


One major honour has eluded him in his time at the club though, and the Croatian international admitted:"LaLiga is the only club trophy I haven't won and four years without it is too much for club of this level. It is time we change that."
