Ghana international Lumor Agbenyenu made his S.K Goztepe debut on Saturday but it did not go according to plan after the Göz Göz lost 1-0 to Galatasaray in the Turkish Super Lig.
Agbenyenu, who joined Goztepe from Sporting CP on Thursday, was hoping start on a good note at his club over the weekend.
However, Galatarasary proved too strong an opponent for his side as they fell to a 1-0 defeat in front of the home supporters at the Bornova Stadyumu.
Galatasaray took a deserving lead on the 72nd-minute through Sinan Gumus strike to beat Goztepe in a pulsating encounter.
The 22-year-old left-back lasted the entire duration of the game.
He joined the Turkish side with an option to buy him once he excels in his six-month loan deal at the club.
The Ghanaian defender made only eight appearances in all competitions for Sporting CP since joining them from Portimonense around a transfer fee of 2.5 million euros.
Agbenyenu has featured nine times for Black Stars of Ghana and made his international debut in a 5-0 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualification win over Ethiopia on 11 June 2017.
Lumor has previously played for Wassaman United, Portimonense, 1860 Munich and Sporting CP.
