Head Coach of the national under-17, Jonas Komla says the Black Starlets have improved a lot from the last time the two teams met at the Africa Junior Championship.
The Black Starlets played the young eagles in an International friendly ahead of the FIFA under-17 world cup in India, next month.
Mali confirmed their dominance on Ghana in youth competition after beating the Black Starlets 2-1 in Abu Dhabi. The same side defeated Ghana at the Africa Junior championship to win the competition.
Mali Coach, Jonas Komla revealed after the game that Ghana looked stronger and much better in the friendly.
“Yes I think the Ghana team is good, they gave a good account of themselves in the friendly with us. We had a good game technically and tactically and I think the two teams will go far in the World Cup,” he said after the game.
Meanwhile, the Coach also revealed he made changes to his squad for the World Cup and is prepared to face each of his group opponents like it’s a final game.
“I made four changes in my team, brought in four new players and I think the will help my squad,
“I think all the teams in my group are strong, Turkey, New Zealand and Paraguay are really tough but I have told my players we play each game like a final.
The FIFA under-17 World Cup begins on October 6th and ends on the 24th of the same month.
