Malmo FF star Kingsley Sarfo has opted to play for the Black Stars of Ghana after prolonged battle to get the youngster wear the Ghanaian jersey.

The 21 year old ignored Ghana in the past following interest from Sweden, who wants the Ghanaian to play for them at the national level.

However, Sarfo has finally settled on decision to play for the Black Stars insisting he is ready to honour a call up.

“I will honour the Stars call up if the coach invites me,” Sarfo told Kumasi-based Angel FM in an interview.

“My decision to play for the national team has nothing to do with Sweden,  it’s my own decision.

”Ghana has done a lot for me and I believe it’s time a serve my country.”

In January 2017 Sarfo expressed his desire to play for Sweden. In May 2017 Sweden U21 wanted him to play in the 2017 UEFA European Under-21 Championship the following month but Sarfo was not able to get his Swedish citizenship in time for the championship.

Sarfo was selected for Ghana in June 2017 but he later he turned that calling down.

He joined Malmo FF in the summer after excelling at IK Sirius, where he played for three seasons.
