Manchester City are ready to make an opening offer for Arsenal attacker Alexis Sanchez.
Despite Arsenal's reluctance to sell to an English rival, City are set to test their resolve with a first bid.
City manager Pep Guardiola signed the Chile international during his time at Barcelona and is said to be keen on a reunion at the Etihad.
And according to journalist Tancredi Palmeri, City are set to make a £53million bid for the 28-year-old, who is also a target for Bayern Munich.
Palmeri posted on Twitter: "Arsenal contacted by Manchester City to announce that they will bid approx 60m€ for Alexis Sanchez, and anyway are ready to match Bayern."
