Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho is still waiting to hear about new contract talks.

The Sun says the Brazilian, who is out-of-contract next summer, has become a key part of Pep Guardiola's midfield this season.

It is understood the 32-year-old had expected to have signed a new City deal already, having held initial talks.

He can start negotiations with other club's across Europe in January, over penning a deal next year with them.

A number of sides in Spain, Germany, Italy and France have already shown an interest in signing the City captain.

But Fernandinho is now hoping to sit down with Etihad chiefs in the next few weeks over penning fresh terms.'
