Manchester United are willing to pay what it takes to trump Manchester City for Alexis Sanchez's signature.

The Sun says desperate Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho will “fight" to land the Arsenal contract rebel this month.

He plans to hijack the striker's move to City by offering Sanchez a whopping £350,000-a-week wages and a £25million signing-on fee.

Mourinho will also pay Arsenal £30m and Sanchez's agent £5m — fees Guardiola refuses to cough up.

The Special One said: “Normally investment in the squad is made in the summer. We build a squad with this idea, this philosophy I share with the club's owners.

“But if there is a fantastic opportunity on the table, you fight for that. If it happens, it happens. If it doesn't, it doesn't."

Although Alexis has his heart set on a reunion with his old Barcelona boss Pep, City are only prepared to offer a £20m transfer fee and £290,000-a-week salary.

They also refuse to pay agent Fernando Felicevich £5m in commission.
