Manchester City youngster, Phil Foden has heaped praises on English-born Ghanaian winger Callum Hudson-Odoi while describing him as a special talent that will be in the national team pretty shortly.
The two teenagers have played various roles for their respective clubs in the English Premier League this season and earned call-ups to play for the England u-21 team in the European Championship qualifiers in this international break.
In an interview sighted on therealchelseafans.com, Phil Foden has noted that Hudson-Odoi looks sharper after recovering from his injury and will surely make a case for a call-up to Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions team.
“Callum’s a special talent and I’ve known him for a long time now.
“We played together in the youth teams and I’m positive he’ll be back up to the first team in the next camp. I’m hoping so.
“He actually looks even sharper. That’s just Callum for you. He’s always got a smile on his face and just loves the game.
“He hasn’t dropped standards in any way. He’ll obviously feel like his sharpness isn’t quite there but you can see the signs”, Foden shared.
Odoi has settled well into Frank Lampard’s Chelsea team and is expected to play a bigger role for the side when the international break is over.
