Roberto Mancini admits he was frustrated in his attempts to sign Manchester City veteran Yaya Toure for Inter Milan.
Mancini quit Inter at the beginning of the season, but not before trying to sign his former City star.
"I tried to bring him to Inter but I do not know why he did not come. The first year was tied to the contract, there was some difficulty, but last year there was a real chance to take him to Italy," said Mancini.
"He did not arrive and I do not know why. He is a champion like (Andrea) Pirlo. At his age despite being 34, he is physically monstrous, serious and can play at high levels, and now it seems they want to renew him - he's a great champion."
