Bechem United could be forced to search for a new manager next season after Coach Manuel Zacharias hinted that he could not guarantee his future with the club.

The coach, who guided the Bechem side to their first MTN FA Cup trophy this season, confirmed to the Graphic Sports that he was still weighing the options and could, therefore, not tell whether he would still manage the FA Cup champions next season.

“I don’t know whether I will still be at Bechem or not next season but if I get any good offer from any club I am ready to leave,” he stated.

He said he wanted to visit his family back home and didn’t know when he would return but could not tell whether he would continue with the club or not.

Zacharias, who has one more year left in his contract with Bechem United, could not explain why he was ready to abandon the club he helped to escape relegation and also win the MTN FA Cup.

But sources close to the club hinted the Graphic Sports that the coach’s Guinean girlfriend wasn’t comfortable with life in the countryside and was therefore putting pressure on the coach to look for a club in the city to enable them to relocate.

“That is why he is forcing to come to Accra Hearts of Oak just to enable him to stay in the city and please his girlfriend who feels disgusted by life in the village,” the source noted.

But the CEO of the club, Kwasi Darlyn, insisted that Zacharias was still the coach of Bechem United but they were ready to allow him to go once he expresses the desire to leave.

He said the club had not taken any decision to fire Coach Zacharias but if he decides to part ways with the club they would not put any impediment in his way.
