The French legend has been chosen as the Master of Ceremonies in the prestigious Qatar 2022 World Cup Qualifiers draw in Egypt.
The Ghanaian born Desailly had a glittering career during his playing days, winning the world cup and Euros with France in 1998 and 2000 respectively.
He also clinched a UEFA Champions League trophy with Marseille in 1993 among other league trophies in big European clubs.
The event is set to start at 17:00 GMT. Ghana were placed in pot A and will be placed in a group with a team each in Pot B, C and D after the event.
