Mario Balotelli Sends Plea to Reds Outcast to Join Him in France After Being Frozen Out at Anfield

Former Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli is loving life in France, and would enjoy having a familiar face around.

According to Telefoot, the Italian wants another Reds outcast, Mamadou Sakho, to join him at his new club OGC Nice.

Balotelli is back on top of things after two years in the wilderness, which included a loan spell at AC Milan. He joined Nice on deadline day this summer, and hit the ground running. Having made eight appearances for the Ligue 1 side, he has seven goals to his name.

Even more surprisingly, Nice are three points clear at the top of France's top flight standings, with Monaco following in second, and Paris Saint-Germain trailing by six points in third place.

Sakho, meanwhile, doesn't look to have any sort of future at Liverpool. The Frenchman was an integral part of the Reds' Europa League run last season, also one of Jurgen Klopp's main choices for the centre-back role. However, UEFA imposed a ban on him after he failed a doping test, leaving him out of the European final, as well as the European Championships.

The ban was eventually lifted and the player was cleared, but a few disciplinary issues have kept him left on the fringes at the club, and many reports have linked him with a January move.

Well, Nice could be just the club for the 26-year-old. Balotelli certainly wants him around, and speaking to Telefoot writer Matt Spiro, the striker said: "I've talked to him. What a waste! He should leave Liverpool. He should come here."

Balotelli also tipped Nice to win the Ligue 1 title this season, insisting that there are huge possibilities.

"It's possible but it will be difficult. We've only played 11 games. But I'm here to win something so I think it's possible.

"Nice were 'a good side, even without Mario," he joked. "I am happy, We are top of the league. But that isn't enough for me."
