Maritzburg United head coach Eric Tinkler has disclosed that interested clubs would have to pay big for the services of Ghanaian goalkeeper Richard Ofori.

Ofori was linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates, Sundowns and Belgian club Genk in the winter transfer window, but the a move did not materialise.

The 26-year-old has been a key cog of Maritzburg United since joining them and his manager Tinkler claims his skipper will not go for a cheap amount because of his qualities.

"If someone wants him, it’s going to be a lot of money… that I can tell, because of the qualities that he has," Tinkler stated in relations to Ofori.

"Richard is a quality goalkeeper, there’s always gonna be interest in him, but he’s a good professional, modern professional… he works extremely hard. There are aspects of his game I still feel he must improve on, but he remains our No1 goalkeeper and our captain."

Ofori was named Man of the Match over the weekend as Maritzburg defeated league leaders Kaizer Chiefs 2-1.
