Mark Hughes Believes Stoke and Swansea City Are Very Much the Same

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes believes Monday night's opponents Swansea aren't all that dissimilar to his own side.

Both teams head into Monday's clash at the Britannia Stadium in need of three points - Stoke are teetering precariously one place above the relegation zone while Swansea lie 19th and four points from safety.

"It won't be easy," Hughes said. I think Swansea are a little bit like ourselves when you look at the early part of the season.

They have a lot of quality when you look at the players they have, you feel they are in a false position to be perfectly honest. It's only a matter of time before they start moving up the table."

Hughes also said he thinks it may take some time before Bob Bradley effectively implements his vision for Swansea, after the American replaced Francesco Guidolin at the start of the month.

They've had a change of management and I'm sure the new manager will have a new way of playing which he'll try to implement as quickly as he can," addedHughes.

That might take time, but given the talent they have, you feel they won't be in trouble for too long."

They've had a bit of a wobble of late and managerial changes don't help that. I'm sure they will now be looking for the continuity they've had in the past that has enabled them to have that success.

Bob Bradley looks like a thorough guy. I've never met him personally, but he looks quite intense and he'll have done his homework. That will have enabled him to impress his new employers.

He's got the job on the basis of his knowledge and experience, so he will know about the Swansea story."
