MATCH REPORT: Chelsea’s Okai Quaye’s hatrick sink Aduana Stars

Alfred Okai Quaye scored a hatrick and was adjudged man of the match as Berekum Chelsea defeated league leaders Aduana Stars 3-2 at the Golden City Park in the Match Day 17 of the Ghana Premier League.

 

The Blues maintained their unbeaten run at home this season when striker Okai Quaye opened the scoring as early in the third minute with Chelsea dominating the opening minutes.

 

Meanwhile, Zakaria Mumuni took his chance in the 28 minute to put the leaders on level.

 

Both sides held on resolutely with Chelsea the stronger side before the break.

 

However, former CNN goal of the weak winner Bright Adjei shot the 2010 champions in front when he scored in the 63 minute.

 

Aduana stars, then took charge of the game, controlling the game and trying to preserve their lead.

 

However, 12 minutes after taking the lead Chelsea were awarded a penalty and man of the moment Alfred Okai Quaye made no mistake to level the scores.

 

The game seemed to be headed for a draw but right on the stroke of full time Alfred Okai Quaye sealed his hatrick to give Berekum Chelsea all three points.

 

Alfred Okai Quaye becomes the third player to score a hatrick in the Ghana Premier League this season joining Hans Kwofie and Bernard Ofori.

 

The win lifts Berekum Chelsea to 4th on the table.
