Accra Hearts of Oak recorded their first win of the season with a 2-1 win over defending league champions Wa All Stars on Sunday at a rainy Accra Sports Stadium. Hearts required a late goal from captain of the day Thomas Abbey to hand Scotsman Frank Nuttal his first victory in the Ghana Premier League.

Expatriate striker Alex Kouami opened the scoring with a fierce drive that sent the Phobian fans at the rainy stadium into a frenzy.

All Stars lethal forward Richard Arthur drew the away side level after finishing off an inadvertent assist from Hearts goalie Ben Mensah.

The goalkeeper had a howler and Richard Arthur was on hand to punish him - the goal meant Hearts of Oak were on hand to draw their four game on the spin but their goal scorer Alex Kouami worked hard to set up skipper Thomas Abbey who tapped in to give the Phobians a 2-1 victory.
