MATCH REPORT: Liberty 3 Elmina Sharks 0 - Liberty hammer minnows to book MTN FA Cup semi place

Published on: 18 June 2016

Liberty Professionals hammered nine-man Elmina Sharks 3-0 on Saturday at the Carl Reindorf Park to book a place in the semi-finals of the MTN FA Cup.

The Sharks gave a good account of themselves holding their hosts to a 0-0 score in the first half of the quarter-final clash.

However, the gulf in class told after the break with George Lamptey's Liberty proving their Premiership credentials.

Liberty raced into a 2-0 lead in three minutes with Felix Addo completing his brace after strikes in the 46th and 49th minutes.

The goals stunned the Division One side who lost their discipline and had two players; defender Enoch Abrokwa and goalie Jopshua Opoku sent-off.

Liberty wonderkid Latif Blessing put the icing on the cake with a sublime free-kick which wrapped-up what in the end was a comfortable victory.
