Former Asante Kotoko head coach, Maxwell Konadu has denied joining Ghana PremierLeague side, Berekum Chelsea.

On Monday, multiple reports emerged that the former Black Stars assistant trainer is edging closer to join Chelsea.

Chelsea has been without a substantive coach following the sacking of Hesse Odamtten.

Maxwell, 48, was sacked by Asante Kotoko on December 17 after the Porcupine Warriors lost 1-0 to Great Olympics in the ongoing Ghana Premier League campaign.

However, a source has described the reports as 'fake news'.

It is unclear if Chelsea will, in the near future consider engaging the services of Maxwell, but what is definite is that the two parties has not spoken nor reached an agreement to work together.

Berekum Chelsea sits 15th on the league log with nine points and will play rejuvenated Hearts of Oak in the matchday 10 fixtures this weekend.
