Interim Coach of Medeama SC, Ben Owu says the club is unlikely to purchase players to beef up their existing squad due to the quality of players they possess in the next premier league season.

Medeama SC were one of the teams touted by pundits to challenge for the league trophy before the start of the season, but had to succumbed to 5th position on the league log after enduring one of their worst start in the Ghana Premier League after using three different coaches to finish the league.

And Ben Owu who was appointed as a stop gap coach in the latter part of the season believes the club is well equipped in all areas to challenge for the league trophy without making additions to their current squad ahead of next season.

“We do not expect any player to join the team when the transfer window opens. The players we have in the team are of high quality and therefore I believe it will be very difficult to make any addition in the coming season.”

“We’ve had offers from TP Mazembe for Akwesi Donsu and Malick Akowuah but we’ve not concluded any dealing with them. Maybe when they move, we might be forced to buy their replacements.”
