Medeama Sporting Club are departing Ghana today for the United States of America (USA).
In the USA, the Ghana Premier League Champions will lock horns with Major League Soccer side DC United.
Medeama Sporting Club will use the international club-friendly game to assess the strength of the team while also selling Ghana to the world through the Visit Ghana campaign.
A post from Medeama SC on social media platform X on Tuesday, October 10, confirmed that the friendly is not in limbo as earlier feared.
In the last 24 hours, several news reports suggested that the match could be called off over claims that the US Embassy had denied players and technical team members of the club Visa to travel for the game.
But according to Medeama SC, the team is already heading to the airport and expected to be on a flight to the US tonight.
The friendly match between Medeama and DC United is scheduled to be played at the Audi Field in Washington DC on Saturday, October 14.
