Michael Akuffo applauds Dr. Kyei for his effectiveness.

Former Asante Kotoko midfielder Michael Akuffo has applauded Club's Chairman, Dr. Kwame Kyei for his professional way of managing the club, Michael believes, the effectiveness has helped improve the club.

31-year-old midfielder won the Ghana Premier League title on three occasions with Kotoko coupled with successes in other domestic cup competitions.

Despite dominating the local scene Akuffo’s generation failed to make it to the group stages of the CAF Champions League and believes if they had played under the current management they would have done better.

Speaking to Kumasi-based Ashh FM, Akuffo said

“Dr. Kwame Kyei is doing a very good job at Kotoko and if we had had him during our days at Kotoko, we would have gone far during our African campaigns,”

“The supporters should support Dr. Kwame Kyei and his management and give them time because they have good plans for the team.”

The business mogul has invested huge amount of money in player recruitment, payment of salaries and other expenses since taking over the club since 2016.

Dr. Kwame Kyei’s tenure has seen the club, winning the MTN FA Cup and the Normalization Committee Tier One Cup. The team has also featured in the Confederation Cup twice, the last one seeing them in the group stage of the competition for the first time 11 years. Dr. Kyei has remained resolute in providing the club the best of everything to ensure its progress
