Kotoko midfielder, Jordan Opoku has expressed that it is the team’s aim to go all out and beat Karela United in the finals of the tier 1 of the GFA Normalization Committee Special Competition to ensure that they get the opportunity to feature in the next edition of the CAF Champions League.

The Kumasi based club is just a final away from making yet another representation in CAF’s club competition following their exploits in the Confederations Cup last season.

After beating Hearts last Sunday to progress into the grand finale, their only obstacle now is Anyinase based Karela United who has been exceptional since the start of the Special Competition.

Speaking in a post-match interview after the Porcupine Warriors were defeated on Wednesday afternoon by Regional rivals Ashanti Gold, Jordan Opoku stressed that all attention should be channeled towards that crucial final with Karela United to ensure they beat them to the CAF Champions League slot.

“We want to win that final because we want to go to the champion’s league and the only way we can go to the Champions League is to win that final. We all have to psyche our mind towards that game so that we can achieve that success, the budding midfielder indicated.

The tier 1 final of the NC Special Competition will be played on Sunday, June 23, 2019, at the Accra Sports Stadium. Kick off time is at 15:00GMT.
