Manager for Arsenal, Mikel Arteta has emphasized that he is hoping to be able to convince transfer targets to join the club in the summer transfer window.

The club has had a roller-coaster campaign in the 2019/2020 season characterized by a lot of inconsistencies.

Following the team’s 3-0 defeat to Manchester City on Wednesday night at the Etihad, Mikel Arteta says he knows what to do to improve the team for next season.

According to the Arsenal boss, he hopes to convince all his transfer targets [Thomas Partey included] to join the club to give the side a squad boost.

“Well, the plans I had were not obviously considering the coronavirus and all the side effects that it has had. ‘We know what we have to do to improve the team, that’s for sure”, he said in a post-match interview.

Arteta added, "Whether we’re able to do it the way we want, that will be a different story. ‘But my focus right now is just to improve the team, get the results that we need to give us the best chance possible to get into Europe, convince the players that this is the right place for them and the right environment, and then work from there."

Arsenal is leading the race to sign Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey who is valued at 50 million Euros by Spanish La Liga side Atletico Madrid.
