Despite being Ghana's all-time leading goal scorer and displaying brilliance on the field, Gyan acknowledges that every top footballer faces setbacks.

In an interview with Onua TV, he expressed remorse over the penalty miss, stating, "I live in my dream and everyone sees the passion I play football with. That penalty miss was my biggest regret. That’s the only negativity that can be associated with me."

Throughout his career, Gyan led Ghana to two Africa Cup of Nations finals and participated in three consecutive FIFA World Cup campaigns.
