MISSING? Martial skips Man Utd awards ceremony

Published on: 19 May 2017

Anthony Martial was missing from Manchester United's annual awards night on Thursday.

Ander Herrera scooped the coveted Player of the Year award, while Antonio Valencia claimed Player's Player of the Season.

However, the Daily Express says despite the high-profile nature of the event there were some absentees - most notably Martial.

Martial was not spotted at the ceremony and there was no reason for his absence - unlike other first-team members.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic did not make an appearance as he was on holiday as part of his rehabilitation following knee surgery.

And fellow injured stars Luke Shaw, Marcos Rojo and Ashley Young also skipped the awards.

Martial's absence comes at a time when his future at Manchester United has been brought into question.
