1978 Africa Cup of Nations winner, Mohammed Polo has encouraged Ghana Premier League clubs to appoint coaches who are practical in order to win laurels.

Coach Polo, who is currently without a club in an interview with Footballghana.com affirmed clubs can compete to the highest level should they begin to hire coaches with the requisite knowledge on the job and can also come out with different innovations.

According to him, it is about time club owners appoint coaches who are tried and tested and understand the job.

“Football is practical’s and so, if you don’t appoint a coach who is practically good, you can’t achieve anything. Coaching is not about theory, it is about what you can do with the ball and that is the work of the coach”

“Most of the coaches are certificate coaches, so practically they are not good and can’t offer any good thing for a club. In fact, certificate coaches will not help Ghana Football, we need practical coaches”

“Practical coaches are capable of fishing out weak points after match days and find a solution to that” he said.
