Mohammed Polo warns Asante Kotoko to be wary of Kariobangi Sharks attacking prowess

Former Hearts of Oak legend Mohammed Polo has warned Asante Kotoko to be wary of Kariobangi Sharks attacking prowess as they likely to meet Kariobangi Sharks in the second round of the CAF Confederations Cup.

The Kenyan side thrashed ARTA Solar of Djibouti 6-1 in the first leg in the preliminary round of CAF inter-club competition on Tuesday.

The former Ghana international has cautioned the Porcupine Warriors to intensify training ahead of the game and advised they must work adequately on their defence due to Sharks' attacking prowess.

"It is good for Kotoko to know the kind of opponents they will face in the next round. Although, the number of goals scored in first leg by Sharks show how prolific their attack is, one can also argue that the opposition they faced also counts," Polo told Goal.

"Since Sharks are likely to qualify, Kotoko defenders must be careful and show they are good by keeping them away from repeating such a scoreline in Kenya.

"Kotoko have to justify why they were the only Ghanaian club which had the opportunity to participate in the Caf inter-club competition," he added.

The first leg of the first round has been scheduled between December 14 and 16 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
