German-born Ghanaian attacker Morgan Fassbender provided an assist in SV Meppen's 3-1 defeat to Viktoria Köln on Friday evening.
The first good start for SV Meppen Morgan Fassbender passed to David Blacha who took aim from the edge of the penalty area, but the Cologne keeper was alert to save the ball in the 5th minute.
Morgan Fassbender again drove the ball down the right side at high speed and passed it flat into the middle, where Marvin Pourié let Sascha Risch through, who pushed in from five meters to make it 1-0 for SV Meppen in the 19th minute.
After a low cross, Robin Meißner scored for Viktoria Köln from nine meters to make it 1-1 in the 44th minute.
After halftime, Morgan Fassbender was substituted in the 51st minute. Robin Meißner scored Viktoria Köln's second goal in the 82nd minute.
Patrick Sontheimer who assisted Robin Meißner's second goal extended the lead for the home side in added time. SV Meppen is managed by former Accra Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko coach Ernst Middendorp.
