Morocco's next competitive encounter will be a 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in South Africa in September.

The Atlas Lions, who became Africa's first World Cup semi-finalists last month, was scheduled to meet Zimbabwe twice in the Cup of Nations in March.

Morocco topped their group, beat Portugal, Spain, Canada, and Belgium, and drew with Croatia. The Atlas Lions finished fourth at the Mundial after a defeat to Croatia who finished third on Saturday 17th December at the Khalifa International Stadium.

However, Zimbabwe was banned from participating in the top African national team competition by FIFA because to government meddling.

Morocco will have to settle with friendlies in the March and June international windows before traveling to South Africa and playing Liberia in Group K from September 4 to 12. Morocco leads the standings with six points after defeating South Africa 2-1 and Liberia 2-0 in June.

The top two teams qualify for the 2023 finals in the Ivory Coast, which have been moved to January and February 2024 due to the rainy season.
