Mourinho stops Man Utd social media use

Jose Mourinho has brought down the hammer down on his Manchester United players by setting new social media rules, according to The Independent.

The Portuguese has become increasingly annoyed by his player's use of social media applications such as Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and Instagram.

To ease his frustration, Mourinho has told his players explicitly that he does not want pictures posted from training, 48 hours before matches, and on the bus when they are on the way to games.

United players have become somewhat favourites in the social media landscape, which at times has landed them in hot water. In November, Luke Shaw posted himself training at home while he was supposedly recovering from injury. United assistant Rui Faria slanted Shaw in the media, believing the video conjectured that United weren't managing Shaw's recovery properly.

Mourinho believes that the club has got softer over the past few seasons, and a new culture is needed that focuses solely on football.
