MTN FA CUP: Asante Kotoko counting on Michael Osei’s luck against Bechem United

Published on: 19 June 2016

Kumasi Asante Kotoko will host Bechem United in an all premier league encounter in the quarter finals of the MTN FA Cup at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

The Porcupine Warriors will be hoping to make another final after losing out last year’s competition to Medeama SC at the Essipong Stadium.

This will be the first time they will be playing at home in this year’s Cup competition after two away games in the round of 32 and 16 respectively.

Coach Michael Osei has been tagged as the lucky coach following his impressive record of winning two finals for the team.

In 2014, he guided Kotoko to defeat Inter Allies in the finals of the MTN FA Cup during the absence of Head coach then Masud Dramani who was on national duty with the Black Stars.

The former Kotoko player repeated same feat in the GHALCA Six(6) tournament this year following the absence of then head coach David Duncan who had taken another set of players to Libya for a friendly.

In the other game on Sunday, Division One side Okwahu United will play host to Premier League side WAFA at the Nkawkaw Park.
