MTN FA CUP: Asante Kotoko knocked out by Bechem United on penalties

Asante Kotoko have been booted out of this year's MTN FA Cup competition after losing to Bechem United on penalties at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Bechem United shocked the Procupine Warriors who were tipped to win this year's cup competition 3-2 on penalties after it ended 1-1 in regulation time.

The Bechem side took the lead through Yaw Arnol who beat the offside trap to slot a neat strike past Felix Annan in goal for Kotoko in the early stages of the game.

Kotoko responded well with the equaliser through Bennett Ofori in the second half.

The Porcupine Warriors had a chance to kill the game from the spot kick but Dauda Mohammed fluffed that opportunity in the 78th minute.

Bechem officials who felt hard done-by referee's decision to award Kotoko a penalty told players to abandon the game before spot kick was effected.

Bechem United will now face second tier side Wa rockets who also shocked premier league leaders All Stars in the semi-final stage.
