Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey has revealed that his agent is in talks with Atlético Madrid regarding a renewal in his contract.
His current contract ends in June 2023 but Los Rojiblancos wants to extend it. Thomas has attracted some attention from clubs in Italy and England.
He has become a key player for Diego Simeone's side, playing 31 matches between all competitions this season. Thomas has scored 3 goals and given 1 assist during that period.
In an interview with Onda Madrid, Partey has admitted that talks have already commenced to extend his contract with the club.
"My agent is talking to them, sometimes we know that what we want we don't always have and I hope everything goes well".
Thomas also gave his answer on the possibility of changing clubs.
"Like all the youth players who have left here, everyone who played in the quarry wants to be here and knows what this club has been since childhood."
He also revealed what he felt about interest from other European clubs.
"I think it is a pride to attract the attention of other teams and this motivates me because it makes me feel that I am doing things well and improving things".
