My dream is to play in the Champions League with Sassuolo - Alfred Duncan

Ghana midfielder Alfred Duncan is eyeing UEFA Champions League berth with Italian side Sassuolo next season after an impressive start in the Serie A.

Duncan, 25 is confident the Black and Greens could earn a spot in Europe's top competition after enjoying a fine start this term, sitting just three points from the automatic slot.

The former Inter Milan midfielder has made seven appearances so far, scoring once and has been a mainstay for the Italian side.

"My dream? That's playing in the Champions League with Sassuolo next season. Which team does not want it. Squinzi wants us in the Champions League," Duncan told Corriere dello Sport.

“The president is ambitious and has prestigious goals. We are following him and we will try to do our best to satisfy him."

“That team had reached the peak, but this is at the beginning of a cycle," he said.

"We started very well but we want to improve and we are aware that we can do it. The signs so far have been good and we must insist on this path,” he added.

On 23 July 2015, Duncan was signed by Sassuolo on a temporary deal, with an obligation to sign him outright at the end of the season from Sampdoria, for about €6 million.

On 6 March 2016, Duncan scored his first goal for the club against A.C. Milan in a 2–0 win.

He represented Ghana at the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Turkey playing four games.

He made his full international debut on 14 November 2012 against Cape Verde.
