Abednego Tetteh has disclosed that his family played a part in his decision to join Ghana Premier League giants Accra Hearts of Oak.

The Phobians have signed the former Bechem United goal poacher to try and end a decade-long top-flight title drought which has reduced their stocks.

Opening up on why he chose Hearts of Oak despite several offers from other clubs abroad, Abednego Tetteh has shared that his family's affection for the club played a role.

"Hearts of Oak was part of the numerous clubs that contacted me but I chose them because I wanted to feel at home. From my infancy, I have been a fan of Hearts and all my family members are fans of the Oak Tree Club.

"My father is a staunch Hearts of Oak fan who is even called PHOBIA.

"It was the love I have for the club that propelled me to sign for the club and my family also influenced it", the attacker told Fox FM.

The goal poacher has been signed by Hearts of Oak on a 3-year contract and will be expected to bang in the goals when the football season resumes after the Coronavirus (Covid-19) break.
