Boateng disclosed that during his time in the Hertha Berlin academy, an agent from Arsenal approached him with an offer to transfer to the club.

Speaking on Rio Ferdinand’s Vibe with Five program, Kevin-Prince explained that despite the enticing prospect, his parents and siblings were opposed to the move.

Their rationale was rooted in the belief that he had untapped potential and joining a prominent club like Arsenal might have hindered his career development.

“I was playing for the German u-18 and this guy came to me that he is an Arsenal scout and that Arsenal were interested but my mom and brothers were like its too early,” he said.
